Deploying the Knowledge (Transaction Server)

The Knowledge is deployed via the pull down menu option 'File / Deploy …' after the deploy settings have been entered; the deploy settings are similarly accessed via the pull down menu option 'File / Deploy Settings'.

This deploy option generates the project application for use by the Transaction Server Engine (Xrserver.dll). This results in the generation of a special format file (with .xra extension or .xre if encrypted) for each Knowledge Module (plus an XRKB.INDEX file).

If the 'Encrypt Knowledge' check box is ticked then the file(s) generated will be encrypted (.xre extension). Encrypted files cannot be imported back into the Knowledge Builder Development Environment.

Knowledge Builder Editions that support the language translation option (see Language Translation for more information) will allow a translation file (with .kbt file extension) to be specified.
